LNLFSR Scholarships

The Louisiana Nursery and Landscape Foundation for Scholarship and Research (LNLFSR) funds scholarships for eligible horticulture students at Louisiana universities with multiple $2500 scholarships annually. LNLFSR is committed to support the future members of the nursery and landscape industry in the state. We appreciate the financial support of members for their contributions and look forward to awarding even more scholarships in the future.

Who is Eligible?

Eligibility- full time students enrolled in Louisiana higher education institutes with study programs focusing on commercial ornamental horticulture, nursery, landscape architect, arboriculture, and garden center industry

Demonstrated excellence in the following area.

  1. Academic Achievement: GPA and recommendation letter indicating excellence in learning and completing course work is important for continued success.
  2. Serving the industry with research and service: research projects should be in the area that fit the industry description above. For example, internships and past/current work in the industry. 
  3. Serving the campus and home community (preferred in Louisiana): extracurricular activities demonstrating leadership and passion for serving the communities.
  4. Career plan with potential future contribution to horticulture industry (Louisiana, the U.S., or internationally)

 

How to Apply?

Eligible students must fill out the application and send to the LNLFSR Scholarship Committee along with the following supplementary materials:

  1. A 500 word essay on why you deserve the scholarship
  2. Two letters of recommendation form people qualified to evaluate your academic potential
