POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY, RUSTON, LA

POSITION: Greenhouse Laboratory Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. degree in an agriculture-related discipline, at least a minor in plant science or horticulture preferred.  Evidence of actual or potential success in plant production and greenhouse management, student supervision, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary department of agricultural sciences are required.

 JOB DESCRIPTION:  This is a 12-month, non-tenure track appointment.  Primary responsibilities include assisting in the management of university greenhouses, facility maintenance and repair, supervision of student workers, instructional support for faculty, and coordination with other departmental personnel.  The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, peers, and administrators and be willing to serve on multidisciplinary projects as needed.
